Mike serves as Vice President of Advertising Operations and Corporate Development for Cox Media. In this capacity, Mike leads the development of new advertising technology, innovative business models, data, and industry consortium activities contributing to the overall growth of the Cox Communications portfolio of entertainment and communications products.
Previously, Mike led the transformation of the company’s operating model and product strategy to drive expansion of advertising functions that doubled the number of homes served, transitioned the company to digital media distribution platforms, and improved the client experience of Cox Media’s local and national advertisers. Mike’s scope of leadership experience at Cox Media includes National and Field sales operations, product development, Emmy-winning technology and on-air operations teams, GreenHouse Labs (CMI’s innovation incubator), and representation of Cox Media as a board member at Canoe Ventures and NCC.
Prior to joining Cox, Mike was an early member of the leadership team at Upper Quadrant, a marketing analytics firm developing media attribution solutions, as well as having led teams at Noblestar, a global systems integration firm during the first .com wave, and various investment management functions at SunTrust.
Mike actively participates in international economic development efforts, most recently with USAID in east Africa and is a mentor/advisor at TechStars start-up accelerator in Atlanta. Mike holds an MBA from Georgetown University and advanced degrees from ESADE in Barcelona, Spain and the University of Maryland (UMUC).
