The image of the twin towers falling to the ground is forever burned into the memories of those who lived through 9/11. But on this day, 34 minutes after the second tower was struck, American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into the western face of the Pentagon, killing 125 people. Though just a fraction of the total loss of life that day, what happened in Washington D.C. is an important and under-reported part of the 9/11 story.
