That is why we are continuing our monthly programming series that will highlight three cable programs that not only are we excited about, but hope you are too. We will share when these shows will premiere and what kind of audience tunes into these high-value shows to help better equip you as you start to build your media buy.

1. Shark Week – Annual Stunt

Shark Week, television’s longest-running, and most anticipated summer event returns for its 33rd year with bigger sharks and bigger bites on Sunday, July 11 and continues through Sunday, July 18. With more shark programming than ever before Shark Week 2021’s jawesome lineup will deliver all-new groundbreaking shark stories revealing remarkable insights into the mysterious world of these magnificent creatures. Discovery will leave no shark fan behind, bringing the Shark Week experience to viewers across digital and social media platforms. This year, the fully immersive experience continues with fin-tastic AR filters for Instagram, Snapchat, and Facebook, and 7 nights of livestreams on TikTok. Viewers watching live will enjoy the first ever JAWscers hosted by Bob the Shark, an interactive experience that will allow fans to vote on their favorite Shark Week moments of all time. Shark Week 2020 reeled in viewers with its jaws-dropping lineup delivering incredible shark stories and celebrating the 20th anniversary of Air Jaws. Shark Week 2020 drove Discovery to be the #1 cable network in Prime Time for the week among both Persons 25-54 and Persons 18-49, no exclusions, as the network took audiences to oceans around the world revealing insights into the mysterious world of these magical creatures.

2. Christmas in July – Annual Holiday Stunt

Grab some ice cubes to pop into your hot chocolate and plan on settling in for Hallmark Channel’s annual Christmas in July event kicking off Friday, July 9, featuring holiday movie favorites and the premiere of Crashing Through the Snow on Saturday, July 17 9/8c. In 2020, the annual holiday stunt reached 23.4M unique viewers making the network the #1 most-watched entertainment network among Women 18+ during weekend total day and delivered 93 of the top 100 movies on cable among Women 18+.

3. Top Chef Amateurs – New Series

Top Chef Amateurs, hosted by Gail Simmons, premieres on Thursday, July 1 at 9pm ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes, immediately following the season finale of Top Chef in Portland. Top Chef Amateurs gives talented home cooks the opportunity of a lifetime to test their skills in the illustrious Top Chef Kitchen. In each 30-minute episode, two amateur chefs will compete head-to-head in some of the most iconic challenges from the Top Chef archives including the mis-en-place race, blind taste test and they’ll even try to break the curse of Top Chef’s most dreaded dish – risotto. Putting their kitchen skills to the test are a wide variety of amateur chefs ranging from an ex-CIA agent to a dental hygienist-turned-food-blogger as well as an architect. The amateur chefs will be paired with different Top Chef finalists, frontrunners, and fan-favorites who will cook alongside them and help the amateurs battle against the clock. The winner of each episode will receive $5,000 furnished by season-long prizing sponsor Wells Fargo.
